An exclusive interview with Reza took place on April 7, 2020. In the meantime, questions such as Reza's biographies as well as frequently asked questions were asked by the special correspondent of the London Post.

 

A candid interview with martial artist Reza Goodary​

 

We sat down with martial artist Rez’s Goodary to find out more about him.

1. Please, briefly introduce yourself. Who is Reza Goodary, in your own words?

I’m Mohammadreza Goodary also known as Reza Goodary is a 31-year old Iranian Martial Artist. I was born in Tehran on 14thDecember 1988. I started martial arts at the age of 7th by Judo.And finally, I became interested in karate and eventually turned to Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu.

 

2. What is your martial arts grade?

I have a black karate belt 4th Dan, world-class (Grade A) refereeing and coaching degree from ISKA (International Shinden Kai Karate Organization), also the blue belt of Brazilian Jujitsu from BTT (Brazilian Top Team).

 

3. When did you start exercising and describe your background?

At the age of 7, I continued to practice Judo, then kung fu, and finally professionally with karate, Muay Thai, and Jujitsu. My records are as follows:

Karate:
           Total: 299 / Win: 253 / K.O: 74 / Loss: 44 / Draw: 2

Muay Thai:
           Total: 7 / Win: 3 / K.O: 1 / Loss: 4 / Draw: 0

Jiujitsu:
           Total: 11 / Win: 9 / K.O: 1 / Loss: 2 / Draw: 0

MMA:
           Total: 0 / Win:0 / K.O: 0 / Loss: 0 / Draw: 0


4. Reza Goodary, according to you as a fighter, what stands you out from others?

I have a record of 299 karate fights, and I am one of the few Iranians to win a world medals in karate, Muay Thai and Jiujitsu.


5. Where are you currently training and what is your goal?

At the moment, I am training at Faritex Training Center Thailand under the supervision of master De’Alonzio Jackson , who is the 8 times Jiujitso world champion, and also my main goal is to participate in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) competitions, and I am seriously pursuing it.

6. Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?

Most people who achieve high grades in martial arts will truly believe in the spirit of martial arts. In martial arts, especially karate, ethics and respect for each other are the most important things. I suggest parents introduce their children to martial arts from an early age. This helps their children to understand the right way to live (as they call it “BUDO” in Japanese) and to ensure the health of their body and soul.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BE A FIGHTER?
I turned to martial arts because of my mood and interest during my adolescence.

 

REZA GOODARY ACCORDING TO YOU AS A FIGHTER, WHAT STANDS YOU OUT FROM OTHERS?
I have a record of 299 karate fights, and I am one of the few Iranians to win world medals in Karate, Muay Thai and Jiujitsu.

 

WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE, AND WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
Many people have been role models in my life, and in fact I am always learning, and I consider myself a student. My biggest success is the 2016 and 2019 World Martial Arts Mastership (Olympic Martial Arts) bronze medals.

 

WHAT IS YOUR PLAN FOR THE FUTURE AND WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?
I gained a lot of experience in martial arts, and now all I have to do is show the fruits of all of them in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) competitions.
